The AIC Canyoning Meeting 2026 in Ponte Caffaro

A narrow gorge with a stream running through it

From 2 to 9 August 2026 the Italian Canyoning Association’s meeting takes place in Ponte Caffaro, a hamlet in the municipality of Bagolino on Lake Idro, in the Sabbia Valley. AIC returns to this area after the meetings of 2006 and 2014.

For one week Ponte Caffaro becomes an international meeting point: hundreds of practitioners, technicians, instructors and enthusiasts are expected from Italy and abroad. The area offers one of the most interesting canyon systems in the Alps, with routes ranging from technical, vertical descents to more playful and aquatic ones, including classics such as Rio Nero and Palvico. There are many canyons to descend, with some new additions, both in the Sabbia Valley and near lakes Garda and Iseo, as well as in the Camonica Valley.

Why we will be there

This is the setting in which, on 6 August, the first “Alessandro Dall’Ò” Scholarship will be awarded. That is no coincidence: the meeting gathers the Italian canyoning community in one place — the community Ale was training in, and the one the scholarship addresses.
